Wuhan is the economic and culture center as well as transportation hub in Central China, located in the east part of Hubei Province at the confluence of Yangtze River and Hanshui River. In the 8,494 square kilometers (3,280 square miles) administrative area, there are 13 districts (Jiang’an, Jianghan, Qiaokou, Hanyang and Wuchang; Hongshan, Qingshan, Dongxihu, Caidian, Jiangxia, Huangpi, Xinzhou and Hannan) and 3 national development zones (Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Donghu High-Tech Development Zone and Wujiashan Taiwanese Investment Zone).   • Yellow Crane Tower: Initially built in the Three Kingdom Period (220 A.D- 280 A.D.), Yellow Crane Tower was destroyed and reconstructed several times in history. As the symbolic architecture of Wuhan, the present one was built in 1985 in a magnificent and elegant style, noted as “One of the Famous Towers in China” together with Yueyang Tower in Hunan Province, Prince Teng Pavilion in Jiangxi Province and Penglai Pavilion in Shandong Province.
  • Hubei Provincial Museum: Hubei Provincial Museum offers a detailed record of Hubei Province’s history that cannot be found anywhere else. The extensive collections tell stories from thousands of years ago to the present day. More than 200,000 pieces of culture relics are preserved and exhibited in the museum, among which 640 pieces are National Level I culture relics and 16 pieces are National Treasures.
  • East Lake: Surrounded by green mountains with meandering Lake Shoreline, East Lake is the biggest city lake in China.
