Buses
The bus system in Changsha City is very modern and convenient. There are 3 public bus centers in Changsha City, and you can take a bus to most places of the city. Now all the buses in Changsha are automatic with the ticket fare of CNY 1 for the common buses and CNY 2 for the air-conditioned buses, so you have to prepare changes in advance.
Besides, there are 3 tourism lines in Changsha City: they are buses U1 and U3 for the Orange-Islet and Yuelu Mountain from the railway station as well as the bus U2 for Huaxia from Guitang with the ticket fare of CNY 3 for each one.

Taxis
The starting price of taxi in Changsha City is CNY 3 per kilometer (1.9 miles), and the first 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) can be divided into several subsections: from 1kilometer (0.6 miles) to 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles), you will be charged CNY 4; from 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) to 2 kilometers (1.2 miles), you will be charged CNY5; from 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) to 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles), you will be charged CNY 6; from 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles) to 3 kilometers (1.9 miles), you will be charged CNY 7; and you will be charged 1.8 CNY per kilometers after the first 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) in the day time.
In the night, the starting price of taxi in Changsha City will be added by CNY 1 in each section for the first 3 kilometers (1.9 miles), which is based on the price in the day time, and the price will be CNY 2.16 per kilometers after the first 3 kilometers.

You’d better bargain with the driver first before you get on the taxi and ask the driver for invoice before you get off the taxi, and you can count on the local drivers, because they are all the walking maps in the city.

Waterways
Changsha Port connects well with Xiangjiang and the sea. There are regular liners from Changsha Port to Nanjing Port, Shanghai Port and Lianyungang Port. There are also other liners to and from Yiyang, Jinshi, Anxiang, Xiangtan, Xiangyin and Yueyang from Changsha Liner Passenger Center every day.
