- Ancient City Wall: The walls, ramparts, gates and watchtowers form one of the oldest and most complete city defences still around. Built in the 13th century on the foundations of the original Tang Forbidden City surrounding the city centre. You can walk, rent a bike,rickshaw or take an electric cart around the full 14km circuit, with great views of the city on either side. If the weather is not good for biking on the city wall, we will substitute a visit to the Bell Tower. Your guide will be very glad to take you the Bell Tower after you have been to look at the city wall.
- Shaanxi History Museum: Shaanxi Province is rich in historical relics, having served as the ancient capital of 13 dynasties throughout China's History. Therefore, the history of Shaanxi is often said to be the history of China. The museum houses over 370,000 historical relics, spanning 1 million years from premitive stone age to modern times. Its architecture also embodies folk tradition and local features.
- Muslim Street: The 500-meter-long avenue paved by blue stones gathers many restaurants, food stands and souvenir shops, which are mostly run by Muslim people. A walk through the Muslim Quarter is an interesting experience,as it not only prvides good opportunities for food and shopping, but also see the vibrant life there.
- Yue Zhen Xuan Restaurant(Hanguang Branch): Yue Zhen Xuan Restaurant is located near the Hanguang Gate of Xi'an City Wall and has a capacity of 200 people. This restaurant features for Cantonese cuisine and seafood along with a great variety of refreshments. It has become popular for its elegant environment and excellent service.

Day 3

Today's Activities: Big Wild Goose Pagoda, The Terracotta Warriors and Horses

- Big Wild Goose Pagoda: It has become the symbol of Xi'an City since its construction in 652. The pagoda is about 64 meters tall, and it was built to house Buddhist sutras and figurines that Monk Xuanzang brought back from India. Ci'en Temple at the foot of the pagoda has several Buddhist halls and statues that are worth visiting.
- The Terracotta Warriors and Horses : It is one of the "Eight Wonders of the World". Over 7000 life-size soliders, chariots, horses as well as other archeological relics have been buried in this impeiral tomb since 210 BC, till they were accidentally discovered in 1974. Here you can also watch a film introducing the history of this vault. It is advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes.
- A Wa Shan Zhai Restaurant(Qinling Branch): A Wa Village Restaurant was established in 2004, mainly specializes in Hunan and Sichuan cuisine. It provides delicacy by using the material from xancin, obtaining a nationwide reputation from customers. It would be a nice choice to dine while traveling the nearby Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses.

- Gansu Provincial Museum: It is located in the Xijin xi road, Qi li he District, Lanzhou.Gansu Provincial Museum is one of the most famous provincial comprehensive museums in China.
- Zhongshan Iron Bridge: Zhongshan Iron Bridge is known as the first bridge on the Yellow River under the heaven. It was built in the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 100 years.
- Waterwheel Garden: The huge old waterwheel, originated from Ming Dynasty, is used to irrigate the fields along the Yellow River in ancient times in Lanzhou. The Waterwheel Garden, which is also known as 'Heaven Wheel', is built in honor of the old irrigative tool. It will be a thrilling experience for the visitors to tour the Waterwheel Garden to see the replica of the old irrigation system.
- White Pagoda Mountain: The White Pagoda Hill is located at the northern bank of the Yellow River. It was named after the white pagoda on top of the hill. It was said that the pagoda was built in honor of a well-known Tibetan Lama who died of an illness in Lanzhou on his way to meet the founder of the Yuan Dynasty. Now the White Pagoda Park covers an area of more than 8,000 square meters. There are some special features waiting to be explored.
- Quanshunlou Restaurant: Quanshunlou Restaurant specializes in pasta and roast mutton cooked in the north western style.

Day 5

Place & Transport: Lanzhou to Xiahe

- Songke Grassland: Songke Grassland is located in southwest of Xiahe. Being a natural pasture of Tibetan nomadic peoples, Songke Grassland is famous for its superb grassland scenery. As you ride on horse you can listen to the pastoral song, and feast your eye on the beautiful flowers and blue sky.
- Xilin Hotel: the Xilin Hotel is near the Labrang Monastery. It serves Sichuan style and Tibetan style food. Tsampa (roast barley) with butter and boiled mutton is one of the famous dishes.

Day 6

Place & Transport: Xiahe to Lanzhou

- Labrang Monastery: One of the major monasteries of the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect. The architectural layout follows the Tibetan style, while the construction patterns are mostly Tibetan, Han, or a mixture of the two. The White Towers (in the northeast and in the northwest) are very typical.
- Lapuleng Princess Restaurant: Lapuleng Princess Restaurant is near the Labrang Monastery. It serves Sichuan style and Tibetan style cuisines.

Day 7

Place & Transport: Lanzhou to Wuwei

- Golden Beach Hotel: The Golden Beach Hotel is considered to be on the best restaurants in Lanzhou city. Cantonese food and Sichuan food are their specialties.
- Lei Tai: Leitai Han Tomb is located in north of downtown area in Wuwei.Being a large brick tomb of the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Leitai Han Tomb is famous for excavating the cultural treasure bronze galloping horse, which is the symbol of Chinese tourism. Now Leitai Han Tomb is one of important scenic spots in Wuwei
- Wuwei Wen Temple (Wen Miao): Wuwei Wen temple is located in the southeast of the city.Wuwei Wen temple became key provincial level historical reservation approved by Gansu Municipal People's Government on September 1st, 1981.
- Tiantishan Grottoes : The Tianfo Temple Grottoes is located in Dengshan Village of Zhonglu Town, which is 50kms south of Wuwei City.Tianfo Temple Grottoes, first constructed during Northern Liang of Sixteen Kingdoms Period and carved dynasties and dynasties, forms a grand-scale and owns much magnificent architecture. It is one of earliest grottoes carved in China and regarded as the "forefather of grotto" by researchers. The grotto still preservers 3-story grottoes, 17 different Buddhist shrines, hundreds of square meters of murals and over 100 painted Buddha.

- Grand Buddha Temple: Located in Shandan County, the Grand Buddha Temple has the largest indoor reclining Buddha in China- the Nirvan Buddha, which was built in Western Hsia period (1098). It is recorded that the premier of Western Hsia once discovered a Buddha covered by a bluish-green tile, thus the Grand Buddha Temple was initially built.
- Wooden Tower of Sui Dynasty: Wooden Tower of Sui Dynasty was built in the Sui Dynasty and restored in 1926. It is 9 storied with a height of about 40 meters. It is said that Buddhist relics were once stored in this tower.

Day 9

Place & Transport: Zhangye to Jiayuguan

- The Great Wall on the Cliff: The Suspended Wall is 11 km away from the city and 7 km away from the Jiayuguan Pass. It was built on the ridge with a gradient of 45 degrees. For the convenience of climbing, steps was built on the wall. Even though, it is still hard for visitor to make it to the top through the 400 steps. But it is worth the painstaking efforts when you are on the top, enjoying the peculiar scenery.
- The Jiayuguan Pass: Built in the Ming Dynasty, the Jiayuguan Pass was one of great strategic importance. The existing walls are the western end of the Great Wall, formed a strongly fortified defensive system. There are many legends concerning the construction of the walls. All of these stories give people a sense of mystery. Everyone knows the saying that he who does not reach the Great wall is not a true man. If you have not been there yet, take some time to start your trip.
- JiaYuGang Hotel: The Jiayuguan Hotel is near the Jiayuguan Pass.The cuisine served is based on local flavors.

Day 10

Place & Transport: Jiayuguan to Dunhuang

- Yulin Grottoes: These caves, with their murals and sculptures, are in a valley among Qilin Mountain, about 180kms from the Mogao Caves. The name is derived from the elms in the valley, and as you travel along the valley road you can easily imagine how it must have been to be a poet or brave solder in the distant past.

- The Crescent Lake and Echoing-Sand Mountain: The Echoing-Sand Mountain is a sand crusted hill with singing sand phenomenon on sunny days. The crescent moon lake is situated between two large sand dunes, forming an oasis in the desert.
- Mogao Grottoes: Also known as "Thousand-Buddha Caves", it is one of China's three famous ancient sculptural sites. The construction began in 366 AD, and it contains some of the finest examples of ancient Buddhist art. The caves were carved out of sandstorm cliffs, and stretch 1600 kilometers from north to south.
- Riding on a Camel: Riding on a camel and traveling along the desert, you can not only enjoy the beutiful scenery of setting sun in the desert, but also have a real experience of traveling along the Silk Road.Further more, you will have a chance to see the five-color sand on the Echoing-Sand Mountain.
- Fengqingyuan Restaurant: The restaurant is near the Moon Spring in Dunhuang. It is courtyard-style and the cuisine is based on local flavors. It is very popular with the locals.

Day 12

- Grape Valley: Xinjiang Province is famous for growing grapes. At the vineyards, you can savor various delicious grapes, see how raisins are processed, and enjoy dancing by beautiful Uygur girls in their traditional costumes.
- Pass through the Flaming Mountain: The Flaming Mountain is located on the northern verge of Turpan Basin, more than 10 kilometers away from Turpan city.It is the cradle of the Turpan ancient civilization and oasis agriculture. Eighty percent of the total natural landscapes and human landscapes in Turpan are located here.
- Thousand Buddha Caves of Tuyuq Valley: It's a treasure trove of Indo-Buddhist art dating from the 4th-8th centuries CE. Despite the depredations of early European explorers, these chapels adorned with their lapis lazuli wall paintings offer us a rare and precious glimpse of early Buddhist arts of the Silk Road.
- Tuyoq Village and Tuyugou Canyon: Tuyugou Great Canyon is an ancient oasis village with orchards, vineyards, irrigation channels and narrow streets. There are few tourists, and an easy walk will take you to a group of ancient Buddhist meditation caves containing frescos.
- Red Rose Restaurant: Red Rose Restaurant is an authentic Uygur restaurant mainly providing Uygur cuisine in local.

Day 13

Place & Transport: Turpan to Urumqi

- Jiaohe Ruin: Jiaohe Ruins Is located 13 kilometers from Turpan City. It was built by the ancient Cheshi people of Qin and Han Dynasties. It is one of the largest and oldest well preserved ancient city remains in the world. As you walk down the streets of the ruined city, it is not hard to imagined the hustle and bustle at that time.
- Karez Well: Karez Water System is considered one of the three greatest water projects in ancient China, alongside with Dujiangyan Irrigation and Grand Canal. It is located 3 kilometers from Turpan. The water system is still functioning nowadays.
- Emin Minaret: Two kilometers east of the Silk Road town of Turfan stands the Amin Mosque with its monumental minaret, the tallest in China. The mosque was built in 1779 during the Qing Dynasty in memory of the Uygur King Amin Khoja (also known as Imin Khoja, Emin Hejo, or Emin Hedro) by his son King Suleiman. The mosque was alternately known as the Su Gong Ta Mosque, or the Mosque of the Su Minaret with reference to Prince Su. His father, King Amin, who died in 1777, had collaborated with Emperors Yongzheng (1723-1736) and Qianlong (1736-1796) to unify Xinjiang and annexed it to the Chinese between 1756-1759 putting an end to local rebellions.



Sundried bricks rise 44m in striking geometrical and floral patterns to form a pretty, tapering cone, which adjoins a large mosque, and is a pleasant 2km drive through the old tree-lined streets of Turpan.

Day 14

Place & Transport: Urumqi

Today's Activities: Erdaoqiao Market, Mt Nan Pastures and Terai Camp, The Terai Camp, Souvenir Shop of the Great Hall of the People

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Erdaoqiao Market: The Erdaoqiao Bazaar is the largest in Urumqi. You'll find a bustling market filled with fruit, clothing, crafts, knives, carpets and almost anything that you can imagine. On Sunday, there are more stalls and more goods to buy than any other day. The old streets around the bazaar are really worth seeing.
- Mt Nan Pastures and Terai Camp: Mount Nan Pasture surrounded by verdant hills. Horse-riding is recommended to explore the area, or you can watch or take part in the local activities. A visit to a yurt is an interesting experience to taste the local food and interact with the herdsmen.
- The Terai Camp: A special experience of Kazak nomad life here, have a cup of milk tea and taste some really local food.
- Jiamu Restaurant : Jiamu is a nationalistic style restaurant, mainly providing Uygur cuisine but no wine allowed while dining. The restroom is in good decoration and there is a short time for live performance during lunch time. Due to some problem for communication as the working staff are Uygur and the higher expense there is few chances to cater to groups。

Day 15

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch at Nuolan Restaurant

- Id Kah Mosque: It is one of the largest and busiest Islamic mosque in China. It was builr in 1442 and went through several expansions. Visitors should respect the rules while visiting. You should remove your shoes on entering the hall, and women visitors should have their upper arms and legs covered.
- Zhiren Street: It is an amazing old street selling a wide range of products, such as porcelain, jewlery, wooden objects and musical instruments. Most of them are hand-made or imported from very distant places, so they are very charateristic and unique. The workmanship at this street is well preserved and has attracted more and more tourists from China and abraod.
- Livestock Market: This big livestock market is vibrant and loud. Streets are chocked with people coming on foot, bike, truck, horse or donkey cart with their livestock. Different animals are sold in their own sections. Farmers shout and try to show their animals are strong and healthy. The whole experience is interesing.
- Kaxgar ancient city: Kaxgar ancient city still retains its special charm of long history. In Uyghur language, "Kaxgar"means "colorful city", which it used to be back in thousands of years ago, although it is dust and partially damaged.
- Nuolan Restaurant : Located at the Kashi town center, is away from the Aitigaer mosque 100 meters. The dining room environment is ordinary, the bathroom repair is simple, squats the type, the hygiene condition is ordinary. But south may taste the boundary Uygur national minority's characteristic diet, with they more intimate contact. Dines when the dining room may not drink wine.

Day 16

Place & Transport: Kashgar

Today's Activities: Lake Karakuli, Pass to Lake Kalakuli

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Lake Karakuli: A sparkling glacial lake, surrounded by stunning rocky mountains, and snow-covered peaks as high as 7500m (the lake's at 3,600). After eating in one of the collection of yurts at the water's edge you can walk around the lake (about 4 hours), or take a ride by pony, camel or motorbike, or just enjoy the scenery before returning to Kashgar. Camping is available in the yurts (best to come well prepared), and longer treks available by arrangement.
- Pass to Lake Kalakuli: Karakuli Lake is located in Kashgar. It is a glacial lake with an altitude of 3600 above sea level. Muztagata Mountains, which is considered to be the "Father of Galciers", provide a magnificent backdrop.

We endeavor to ensure that a choice of western and Chinese breakfasts is supplied, however there may be occasions when only a Chinese breakfast is available in some remote locations.
