Day 1

Place & Transport: Arrive in Lijiang, Flight not included

Today's Activities: Airport Transfer (Lijiang), Dongba Museum, Lion Hill

Meals: Chinese Lunch at Le Petit Paris

- Dongba Museum: Covering an area of 7 acres, Dongba Museum is the sanctuary of the Naxi ancient culture. Here you can learn about the "Wood and Stone Prints" of Pictographic characters. Besides, you can also get the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking beauty in Lijiang.
- Lion Hill: Both the hill and the wooden structure called Wangulou provide good views of the Old Town and the surrounding countryside.
- Le Petit Paris: Located at crowded bar street of Lijiang, Le Petit Paris mainly provides both Chinese and western dishes in bar style dining room.

Day 2

Place & Transport: Lijiang

Today's Activities: The Mural in Baisha Village, Yunshanping on Jade Snow Mountain, Lijiang Museum

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- The Mural in Baisha Village: Baisha village is one of the Naxi Minority villages in Lijiang and is more special because of the collection of murals in the village. Painted over a thousand years ago, they combine the cultures of Han, Tibetan and Naxi people displaying the life stories of the Tibet Buddhism, Confucian and Taoism. The unique artistic style and precious historical content of the murals attract visitors from home and abroad.
- Yunshanping on Jade Snow Mountain: It is a large patch of pasture tucked away hidden amongst a virgin spruce forest on the eastern side of the Yulong Snow Mountain.
- Baisha Shiguang Restaurant: The restaurant is located in Baisha Village and provides mainly Naxi cuisine along with some Chinese dishes.

Day 3

Place & Transport: Lijiang

Today's Activities: Hiking from Qiaotou to Halfway Hostel, Tiger Leaping Gorge

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Hiking from Qiaotou to Halfway Hostel: Hike about 17 KM and approximately seven hours from Qiaotou to Halfway Guest house. First hike two hours to Naxi Family Guest house, have lunch. Then continue hiking another 2 hours up the steep 28-bends before the next break. The views are unforgettable. Another 2 hours and we will arrive at the half-way guest house which has a great view of Yulong Snow Mountain and overlooks the Jinsha River Valley.
- Tiger Leaping Gorge: As one of the deepest and most marvelous gorges, Tiger Leaping Gorges are located in Hutiaoxia Town, 105 kilometers away from Zhongdian/Shangri-La County. Spring is the best time to visit, as melting snow flowing down from mountains makes the river turbulence at its peak.

Day 4

Place & Transport: Lijiang to Diqing

Today's Activities: Hiking from Halfway Hostel to Tina's, Hiking from Tina's to middle part of Tiger Leaping Gorge, Our guide and driver will escort you from Lijiang to Diqing

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Hiking from Halfway Hostel to Tina's: Hike down to Tina’s Guest house (about 2 Hours) pass through some pretty waterfalls and canyons on the way.
- Hiking from Tina's to middle part of Tiger Leaping Gorge: 1 hour walking down the steep cliff to the bank of Jinsha River, worship the dangerous shoal of "Starriness", it is the most narrow part of the gorge, where a tiger can easily jump over the Jinsha River.

Day 5

Place & Transport: Lijiang to Diqing

Today's Activities: Our guide and driver will escort you from Lijiang to Diqing, Baishuitai, Lake Bita and Lake Shudu

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Baishuitai: White Water Terrace in Naxi means 'growing flower'. Not only a place of beautiful scenery, it is also one of the birthplaces of Dongba Naxi culture, widely known around the world.Occupying an area of about 3 square kilometers with green plants and springs setting off each other, just like a "field in heaven".
- Lake Bita and Lake Shudu: "Bita" means in Tibetan a place with a dense oak forest and "Bitahai" means a quiet lake. The Bitahai Lake is surrounded by mountains covered with ancient pines, oaks and rhododendrons, just like an emerald in the heart of the mountain. Shudu Lake is located in northeast of Shangri-la,it is one of the largest fresh water lakes on the Diqing plateau. The lake is surrounded by a forest of fir,spruce and silver birch, and is home to lots of wild animals such as bears,golden cats, deer and pheasants.

Day 6

Place & Transport: Diqing

Today's Activities: Songzanlin Lamasery, Visit Tibetan Family

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

- Songzanlin Lamasery: Occupying an area of 33 hectares, Songzanlin Lamasery is the largest Buddhist lamasery in Yunnan Province. Built in 1679 in the style of Potala Palace in Lhasa, the Lamasery stores many Buddhist statues and precious cultural treasures.
- Visit Tibetan Family : Traveling in Tibet, you should definitely visit some Tibetan families. Tibetans are hospitable and they will prepare lots of special and delicious food for visitors, such as wines of highland barley wild oat, butter tea, milk residue, fried paste and Zanba, roast sheep and Tibetan hot pot. Besides, the decoration and the structure of those houses are unique.

We endeavor to ensure that a choice of western and Chinese breakfasts is supplied, however there may be occasions when only a Chinese breakfast is available in some remote locations.
  • Private Transfers:
    Transfers between airports, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing in Lijiang, Diqing by private air conditioned vehicle with a driver and English-speaking guide (as listed above).
  • Guide:
    As outlined in the itinerary an English-speaking guide and driver will be provided in each city, who will remain with you throughout your time in that city. A new guide and a new driver will meet you at each city on your tour, to provide you with the best local knowledge available.
  • Hotels:
    Hotel fees are based on two people sharing one room with twin beds.
    All hotels as listed in the above itinerary serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.
