Jiayuguan Travel Guide
Located in the northwest part of Gansu Province, Jiayuguan is a famous tourism city in the center of Hexi Corridor, with Jiuquan City in the east, Yumen City in the west, the Qilian Mountain in the south and the Hei Mountain in the north, which is 776 kilometers (482 miles) away from Lanzhou City, 300 kilometers (186 miles) away from Qinghai Province and 650 kilometers (404 miles) away from Hami City of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, covering an area of 2,935 square kilometers (1,133 square miles) in total. The altitude of the city is between 1,412 meters (4,633 feet) and 2,722 meters (8,930 feet) high above the sea level, with 1,462 meters (4,797 feet) high on average in the downtown area.
