Wutaishan Travel Guide
As one of the “Four Famous Buddhist Mountains in China” together with Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang Province, Jiuhua Mountain in An’hui Province and E’mei Mountain in Sichuan Province, Wutai Mountain, located in the northeast part of Shanxi province, which is 240 kilometers (149 miles) away from the provincial capital Taiyuan, covering an area of 592.8 square kilometers (229 square miles) and extending 250 kilometers (155 miles).
