Huangjueping Avenue

The avenue is famed for the buildings on both sides, which are painted with graffiti by students of Sichuan Academy of Art. The avenue is just like the 798 art zone in Beijing, but is smaller and less distinctive than the latter one. The Sichuan Academy of Art is surrounded by various kinds of pubs, teahouses, galleries and bookstores at the backstreet of the Academy of Art and the Huangjueping Avenue. The buildings of graffiti are mainly age-old residential buildings which are going to be rebuilt. If you go to Huangjueping Avenue at present, you can see a Chinese character “拆" (“chai”, meaning tearing down) on those buildings. The artistic graffiti of such large scale will gradually be out of our sight.
