Solitary Beauty Peak is located in the ancient Mansion of Prince Jingjiang, in the center of Guilin City. Towering abruptly from the ground with magnificent vigour, it has long been known as the “Southern Sky-supporting Pillar". There is a natural stone chamber located in the east of the hill and it is believed to be the study used by Yan Yanzhi (a famous literator in the Southern Song Dynasty 1127–1279) when he was the Magistrate of Guilin 1,500 years ago. The Moon Hill which is 380 meters high, locates in the Gaotian County, 8.5 kilometers far away from the south of the Yangshuo County. There is a hole which looks like a bright moon hanging in the sky through out the top of the mountain. The name of Moon Hill also comes from this. This hole is so huge that it is estimated to be 50 meters high and wide.
