Highways

Land transportation to nearby counties, cities, and provinces is frequent and convenient. There are 3 bus stations in Guilin, but the major one is the Guilin Long-Distance Bus Station, which is located in the south of the city center and only 10 minutes’ walk north of Guilin Railway Station. You can take public bus No. 5, 9, 10, 11, 16, 22, 88, 91, 99, or 100 to get to the Guilin Long-Distance Bus Station.

There are numerous daily buses to Yangshuo and Longsheng, which are popular tourist destinations. There are also buses to major cities within the province such as Nanning (5 hours), Liuzhou (2 hours), and Beihai (8 hours), all with air-conditioned sleeper bunks. Coaches to cities in nearby provinces (mostly Guangdong and Hunan) are also available, like Guangzhou (10 hours), Shenzhen (12 hours), and Changsha (8 hours), also with air-conditioned sleeper bunks.

To Yangshuo:
Buses to Yangshuo are frequent and convenient, taking only 1.5 hours. Buses depart every 20 minutes from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm. Buy direct bus tickets to Yangshuo at the ticket kiosk inside the bus station, which cost 18 yuan per person (price is for reference only).

To Longsheng:
Longsheng is the place where China’s iconic rice terraced fields and ethnic villages are located. Direct buses depart every 40 minutes from 6:50 am to 6:00 pm. It takes 2.5 hours to travel from Guilin to Longsheng. After arriving in Longsheng, you will need to take a transfer bus to the nearby villages (about 1 hour).

To Sanjiang
Sanjiang is where picturesque ethnic villages and their unique buildings such as the Drum Tower, and Wind and Rain Bridge are located. Every day there are 4 buses that depart from Guilin for Sanjiang, and it takes about 5 hours. The ticket price is about 45 yuan per person (price is for reference only).
