Guilin is extremely known for its unique karst landscapes and beautiful waterway system. For tourism purposes, there are 2 kinds of cruises available for enjoying the area’s natural beauty: the Li River Cruise and Guilin City Waterway Cruise.

Li River Cruise
The 3-hour Li River cruise starts from Zhujiang Dock (30 kilometers southeast of Guilin’s city center) and ends at Yangshuo Ancient Town. This section is largely regarded as the most beautiful part of the Li River. Travelers can enjoy breathtaking scenery that includes dramatic karst mountains, steep cliffs, tranquil farming villages, bamboo groves, and magnificent water buffalos along one of the most striking waterways of China.

Guilin City Waterway Cruise
Guilin’s waterway system primarily consists of 2 rivers and 4 lakes. The 1.5-hour cruise takes you to see all of them, and even includes some performances like ethnic dances and a cormorant fishing show. The best time to take this short cruise is in the evening when multi-colored lights come on to decorate scenes alongside the lakes.
