Buses/Sigh-Seeing buses
The bus system in Haikou City is rather modern and convenient, and most of them are medium-sized bus. Now all the buses here are automatic, so you have to prepare changes in advance. The ticket fare is CNY 1 within the city. Besides, there are Sigh-Seeing buses services to most of the major scenic spots in the city with the ticket fee of CNY 2 for each one. There are tourism buses with the brand name of New Meilan in the city, so you can take a bus to most of the places of the city, especially to the scenic spots, and the cost will charged from CNY 1 to CNY 2 according to the distance, which is convenient for the locals as well as the tourists.

Taxis
The brand names of taxies in Haikou City are mainly Xiali, Mazda and Jetta, which give convenience to the residents and tourists compared with the other vehicles. The starting price of taxies is CNY 10 for the first 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) and the price will be CNY 1.8 per one kilometer later, however, the price will be CNY 2 per one kilometer after 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) for Santana. Almost all the taxi drivers in Haikou are walking maps, so you can take their advice, but you’d better bargain with the driver first before you get in the taxi.
