Gegentala Grassland
Gegentala Grassland is a famous scenic spot in Hohhot,140 kilometers north of the city, and a tarred road stretches to the grassland directly from the city. As a 4A scenic spot, it has received more than 40,000 overseas visitors from 50 countries and more than 200,000 domestic visitors since its opening up in 1979.
Now Gegentala Grassland is more beautiful and attractive than ever with its rich grassland, abundant water and hills. The running horses, golden camel flock, white sheep flock, blue sky and traditional Mongolia Yurts make great viewing for tourists and photographer.
A large- scale temple fair is held once a year and a small- scale temple fair is held once a month on the grassland. Visitors have chances to enjoy the traditional performances of Mongolians during festivals, including traditional Mongolian singing and dancing, wrestling, horse-riding and shooting arrows. Riding horses in Mongolian gown and boots with locals is also a must-do activity. The hospitable nomadic people may invite you for a drink of fresh Kumiss and grilled meat and roasted mutton.
The most important festival for Mongolian People is Nadam, which is held from August 15th to August 25th on Gegentala Grassland every year.

Opening hours: from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Bus routes: visitors can take a bus from Hohhot to Ulanchap firstly, and then transfer a bus to Siziwang Banner directly.
