Xilamuren Grassland is temperate grassland in Inner Mongolia, northern China. When summer and autumn arrive, the grassland is coated with grass and flowers, some of which can survive to later October.

Xilamuren Grassland is well- known in China for its natural scenic spot, culture relics and the folk customs. The main culture relic on the grassland is the lamasery- Puhui Temple on the bank of Xilamuren River, which was built during the 24th year (1,769 A.D.) in the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1,616 A.D.-1,911 A.D.). The temple has a rectangle courtyard in Han and Tibetan architecture style, and it is very majestic and elegant with carved beams and painted pillars for decoration. Behind the temple is the Xilamuren River, and visitors can climb up to Obo Mountain for an overview of vast grassland.

Tourist facilities are equipped here. More than 30 Mongolian Yurts served as hotels. Home stay is also available, giving chances to touch the local life of Nomadic people.

Xilamuren Grassland is also the place for annual Nadam festival, which is the biggest and most widely watched festival among Mongols. Horse- racing, wrestling and archery are the highlight of various celebrations. Many visitors from home and abroad take participate in the festival each year, making it known world wide.

Bus routes: visitors can take a bus from Baotou bus station to get there directly within 2 hours
