Hohhot Baitai International Airport, the biggest airport in Inner Mongolia, is 15 kilometers in the southeast of Hohhot city center. The airport has direct flights to all major cities of China, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xian, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chifeng, Xilinhaote, Wulanhaote and Manzhouli. It operates some international flights to Ulan Bator of Mongolia and Chita of Russia as well.

Airport shuttle buses between the airport and Xinhua Square in the city center are available every half hour, and the whole journey takes half an hour at the fare of CNY 5 per person. Besides, you can take a bus No. 12 to the airport directly from the city center.
