Macau Overview
As one of the two special administrative regions in China (the other one being Hong Kong), Macau is located west of the Pearl River Delta in Southeast China; covers an area of 32.8 square kilometers with Zhuhai in the north, Hong Kong in the east, and Wanzai in the west; and is composed of the Macau peninsula, Dangzai Island, Luhuan Island, and Ludang City. It is 60 kilometers from Hong Kong and 145 kilometers from Guangzhou, and the coastal line is a total of 40 kilometers. And as one of the “Four Gambling Cities” in the world, Macau’s large lottery industry is a major economic force and its tourism industry has developed very quickly in recent years.
