Lao Mountain
The Lao Mountain is located near the shore of the Yellow Sea, which is bestowed with the title of “the First Famous Mountain near the Sea” with Gigantic Peak, the main peak of 1,132.7 meters (3,716.2 feet) high above the sea level. A local saying goes: “Although Taishan Mount is well-known for its high elevation, the Lao Mountain, bordering on Yellow Sea, gets the preference in the competition.” The Lao Mountain Scenic Spot Area was enlisted as the first batch of “the National-Level Scenic Spot of China” by the State Council in 1982.
The main features of the Lao Mountain
The main feature of the Laoshan Mountain is the mountain connecting to the sea, both of which are setting off each other perfectly, and the Lao Mountain is the only mountain that stands out of the crowed near the sea in China. The coastal line along the Lao Mountain is as long as 87 kilometers (54 miles) with 18 islands of different sizes along the Yellow Sea, which form a wonder on the sea together. It functioned as the Taoism Mountain with more than 1,000 Taoists in the past, among which the most famous ones were Zhang Sanfei and Qiu Changchun, and there are 12 main attractions in the Lao Mountain: the Taiqing Palace, the Dragon- Pond Waterfall, the Gigantic Peak, the Hualou Peak, the Beijiu Water, the Taiping Palace, the Mingxia Cave and the Beizhai Agricultural Ecological Tourism Zone.

It can be divided into 3 separate parts: the Sanguan Hall, the Sanhuang Hall and the Sanqing Hall, and each part has an independent wall, among which the Sanguan Hall is the biggest architecture in the Taiqing Palace.
The Dragon- Pond Waterfall
The Dragon- Pond Waterfall is 30 meters (98 feet) high and 5 meters (5.5 yards) wide in size, and the water resource is from the Shangulao that is between the Tiancha Peak and the Beitian Gate, which is in the shape of a huge dragon when it falls from the cliff, so it is called the Dragon- Pond Waterfall by the local people.
