Olympic Sailing Center of Qingdao

The Olympic Sailing Center is located in the Fushan Bay in the east part of Qingdao with the Wusi Square and the Donghai Road in vicinity. The 29th Olympic Sailing Games and the 13th Olympic Sailing Games for the Disabled were held here.

The main features of Olympic Sailing Center of Qingdao

The Olympic Sailing Center of Qingdao covers an area of 45 hectares (538,196 square yards) and consists of the Olympic Branch Village, the Athlete Center, the Administration and Competition Management Center, the Media Center and the Logistics Supporting Center. On the Olympic venues are all the necessary equipments. Other supporting facilities like Measurement Hall, Sailboat Parking lot, Launching Slopes and Olympic Memorial Wall are distuibuted in the center and land area.

The Olympic Branch Village
The Olympic Branch Village is located in the north of the Olympic Sailing Center, covering a construction area of 91,000 square meters (108,835 square yards). As one of the branches of Beijing Olympic Village, it functions as the residence area, the restaurant and the net-bar during the competition. and become a five- star hotel after the competition.

The Athlete Center
The 5-strorey Athlete Center, covering a construction area of 16,600 square meters (19,853 square yards), serves as a museum of Olympic Sailing Games as well as the body -building club after the competition.

The Administration and Competition Management Center
Covering a construction area of 16,800 square meters (20,093 square yards), it serves as the Venue Management Office, the restaurant, the Office of Security and Protection Institution and the VIP Reception Area during the competition.

The Media Center
Located in the south part of the Olympic Sailing Center, it covers a construction area of 8,100 square meters (9,688 square yards) with 3 stories, which functions as the News Publicity and TV Transmission Area during the competition, and it functions as a large- scale Sailing Club after the competition.

The Logistics Supporting Center
Located in the east part of the Olympic Sailing Center, it is a 3-storied building with the construction area of 5,800 square meters (6,937 square yards) with 3 stories, which functions as a recreational and entertaining site.
