- Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall: It gives an intersting exhibition of Shanghai's city planning in the past as well as in the future. The centerpiece is a huge scale model of Shanghai, which shows the layout the main buildings of this metropollis. Visitors will get to know the history, present and future developments of Shanghai through various displays and interactive exhibitions supported by multimedia and technology.
- The Bund: The 1.5-kilometer-long pedestrian with Huangpu River on the east side, is lined with European-style buildings on both sides, so it is also called "World Architectural Fair". Beautiful scenery together with shops, restaurants and bars offer much to see and do during a leisurely walk. The view at night is also magical with lighting on.
- The Shanghai World Financial Center : Shanghai World Financial Center, at 492 meters tall, is by far the tallest building in China, and the third tallest after Burj Dubai and Taipei 101. It combines functions of sightseeing, shopping, offices, hotels and restaurants.
- Home's Restaurant: Home's Restaurant is located near the Nanjing Road. It specializes in Shanghai cuisine using the best local ingredients. Smoked fish and red jujube with sticky rice are well known in Shanghai. The restaurant enjoys a great reputation with diners from many parts of China and abroad.

Day 3

Place & Transport: Shanghai to Suzhou

- Tongli Cruise: Tongli Cruise is the best way to experince this water town.
- Tongli: Tongli is an ancient water town with a history of more than one thousand years. It is surrounded by water on its four sides, and there are fifteen rivers inside the town, which are connected by 49 ancient bridges. Here you can also visit beautiful gardens, temples, and former residence of some famous figures in Chinese history.

Day 4

Place & Transport: Tongli to Suzhou

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch at Yangyang Dumpling Restaurant

- Humble Administrators Garden: The garden is the largest one of all the gardens in Suzhou. Centered around a large pond, there are numerous pavilions, bridges, terraces, chambers and towers. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, because a lot of walking is needed here.
- Lingering Garden: Lingering Garden is the most complete in architecture forms amongst all the classical gardens in Suzhou. It is characterized by unique layout and strange-shaped rocks. It is seperated into 4 parts, connected by 700 meters of covered walkways.
- Rickshaw ride: The rickshaw tour takes you into the old alleys of Suzhou City, where you can see ancient houses and bridges, and also the local people's life.
- Yangyang Dumpling Restaurant: Originally established as a dumpling factory, Yangyang has developed into a restaurant serving diversified cuisine. Combining traditional delicacies with western-style food, Yangyang has been recognized by overseas tourist magazines.

We endeavor to ensure that a choice of western and Chinese breakfasts is supplied, however there may be occasions when only a Chinese breakfast is available in some remote locations.
  • Private Transfers:
    Transfers between airports, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing in Shanghai, Suzhou, Tongli by private air conditioned vehicle with a driver and English-speaking guide (as listed above).
  • Guide:
    As outlined in the itinerary an English-speaking guide and driver will be provided in each city, who will remain with you throughout your time in that city. A new guide and a new driver will meet you at each city on your tour, to provide you with the best local knowledge available.
  • Hotels:
    Hotel fees are based on two people sharing one room with twin beds.
    All hotels as listed in the above itinerary serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.

Shanghai Overview

Shanghai, located on Center China's eastern coast at the mouth of the Yangtze River, is the biggest city in China and is also one of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government of China. With a population of over 20 million, Shanghai possesses the biggest industrial base and foreign trade port in China.

Shanghai World Expo

Being originally a fishing and textiles town, Shanghai flourished as an international commercial centre, and had become a multinational hub of finance and business by the 1930s, and now is regarded as a rising tourist destination for its profound cultural deposits and plenty of historic sites, such as the Bund in the east of Huangpu River and New Field.

At the opposite side of Huangpu River, there is another flourishing sight, namely, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jinmao Mansion, Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC) and other buildings forming one of the most splendid skylines in the world. With all these wonderful views, Shanghai has been known as “Oriental Paris”.

Major attractions
With the important status of economy, commerce and geography, Shanghai has become an open and dynamic city. It is renowned for its historical landmarks such as the Bund and City God Temple, its modern and ever-expanding Pudong skyline including the Oriental Pearl Tower, and its new reputation as a worldwide center of culture and design.

The Bund, an area of Huangpu District in Shanghai, usually refers to the buildings and wharves on a section of East-1 Zhongshan Road within the former Shanghai International Settlement, as well as some adjacent areas. It is one of the symbols of Shanghai.

City God Temple, as a most important part of the core of the old city of Shanghai, refers to the large temple complex. Today, it also involves the traditional district of commerce in the city, surrounding the temple.

The Oriental Pearl Tower is a TV tower in Shanghai, well-known as the third tallest tower in the world after the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada and the Ostankino Tower in Moscow, Russia. There is rich Chinese symbolism in the design. Its design is based on a verse of the Tang Dynasty poem Pipa Song about the wonderful sprinkling sound of a pipa instrument, like pearls, big and small falling on a jade plate.

Yuyuan Garden, located in Anren Street, Shanghai, next to the City God Temple, is considered as one of the most lavish and finest Chinese gardens in the region.

Huangpu River, about 97 kilometers long, is the largest river in Shanghai, along which there are lots of wonderful views. The Huangpu River Cruise is one of the best ways to see both old and new Shanghai
