Buses
There are 8 bus routes in Turpan City which can take you to the different directions of the city. There are bus No. 1, 6 and 102 passing Sugong Tower, No. 5 passing the Grape Valley and No. 1, 101 and 102 passing the Folk Garden of Karez System. Now all the buses in Chengdu are automatic, so you have to prepare changes. The ticket fare is CNY 1 in all the buses

Taxies
The taxi is the best way to save your time and the most convenient way to destination in Turpan. As usual, the price of taxi in Turpan is CNY5 for the first 3 kilometers. Almost all the taxi drivers are walking maps, so you can take their advice, but you’d better ask for clear quotation price and invoice. A chartered taxi will cost 300-400 RMB each day.

Donkey Cart
If you want to make a short trip in or around the city, the donkey cart will be a better choice for you. As a matter of fact, it is a kind of cart by donkeys which is reined by local people, decorated by colorful blanket. After bargaining at a suitable fee, you can take the vehicle to wander around the wonderful old city in the unique mood.
