Yuanboyuan Garden
Yuanboyuan Garden, situated in Xinglin Gulf of Jimei District in Xiamen City, half of it is the sea area, making it the only unique "a garden on the water” as well as ” the water in the garden". With the vast water area of Xinglinwan as background, it is composed of 5 exhibition islands, 4 ecological landscape islands and 2 peninsulas. It is an AAAA scenic spot in Xiamen, which attracts visitors from all over the world each year. It is open to the public in 2007.
The main features of Yuanboyuan Garden
Covering an area of 6.76 square kilometers, the whole layout of Yuanboyuan Garden is well-designed. Two birds named egrets spreading the wings are designed in the front gate, which are just like two white petals. As you walk into the garden, you will be impressed by the beautiful and magnificent scenic spots in the garden, which shows fully the regional characteristics of Xiamen. According to the schools of ancient Chinese gardening and the styles of the modern gardening, nine theme gardens can be divided in Yuanboyuan Garden, (namely Garden in South China style, Garden in modern style, Garden in North China style, Garden in Lingnan style, International Garden, Garden in nature, Garden of ethnic customs, the public garden and Mintai Isle), each of which displays the characteristics of the gardens in different regions. All the gardens are distributed along the wide Yuanbo Road that is as long as 2,100 meters and stretches itself into the sea far away. All the gardens in Yuanboyuan Garden are perfectly connected by bridges, the visitors will be able to experience different kinds of gardening style when walking along the gardens.
A musical garden in the lake is built in the east of the main garden, which is the biggest in scale and the most advanced in high-tech as well as the best in visual effects in south China, entertaining the visitors both in eyes and ears along with special lighting and laser show.
Getting there
Yuanboyuan Garden is situated in Xinglin Gulf of Jimei District in Xiamen City. There are buses to there from 8:00 in the morning to 10:00 in the evening every day. You can take a bus No. 50, 51, 52, 53, 58, 66, 69, 3, 201, 202, 617 and 802 to get there immediately from the center of the city. It is open to the public from 7:30 in the morning to 9:00 in the evening each day.
