Yichang Sanxia Airport is located in the Xiaoting District of Yichang, which is 26 kilometers from the city center and 55 kilometers from the Three Gorge Dam, with Yi-Huang Highway to the north, the Yangtze River Golden Waterway to the south, and Jiao- Liu Railway to the east. Direct flights between Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Shenzhen, and Wuhan are available at the airport every day, also in addition to direct international flights between South Korea and Japan at regular intervals throughout the week.

Airport shuttle buses from the airport to Qingjiang Hotel operate every 50 minutes with a ticket fare of CNY 20; they stop at the bus stations and ports within the city.

In addition, there are pubic buses options for the airport. Public bus No. 100 or 101 run between the city center and Xiaoxi Tower in the Wuling District, from which it is only a taxi ride between the airport.
